She was a member of the Homer United Methodist Church, where she was active in all aspects of the church. She was part owner of Homer IGA, retiring in 1969. Young lived in the Homer area since 1942. He preceded her in death February 4, 2000. Young September 1, 1940, in Highland Park, Illinois. Young was born March 25, 1914, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Scott and Georgia Belle (Johnson) Miller. Young, 91, of Spring Arbor and formerly of Homer, died Monday, January 3, 2005, at Arbor Manor Care Center in Spring Arbor. Interment will follow in Sunset View Cemetery in Jonesville. Funeral services are Saturday, January 8, at 11 a.m. Friday at the George White Funeral Home in Litchfield. Visitation is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. Chilson was preceded in death by a brother and a son. Survivors include a daughter, Dolores Jacox of Marshall five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He retired in 1981 from Simpson Industries, Inc. Army, he had formerly belonged to the Jonesville American Legion. Chilson was a World War II veteran of the U.S. ![]() He married Leola Nerber November 14, 1948. Chilson was born April 25, 1916, in Jonesville, to Alexander and Emily May (Nash) Chilson.
